Working at the right pace
A few things that shape how we work, and why they matter to the people who bring pieces to us.
Nothing hidden
Before any work starts, we prepare a written condition note and talk you through what we find. You decide how to proceed.
Patient timelines
We do not rush. Typical turnaround is two to three weeks — enough time to do the work properly without cutting corners.
Original character preserved
We work to keep each piece as close to its original condition as the owner prefers. Cosmetic changes are always discussed first.
Informed decisions
We explain what each part does and why it might need attention, so you can make choices that feel right for your piece.
Hands-on expertise
Every piece that comes through the atelier is handled by trained watchmakers with a background in mechanical and vintage movements.
Kept in the loop
If anything changes during the work, we reach out before continuing. No surprises on collection.

Common Questions
Things people often ask
How long does a service typically take?
Most services take between two and three weeks from the date we receive the piece. Vintage restoration and complete overhauls may take a little longer, depending on the condition and whether any parts need to be sourced. We will always give you a realistic estimate at the start and keep you updated throughout.
Do I need to book before bringing my watch in?
It is helpful if you contact us in advance, either by phone or through the form below, so we can set aside time to speak with you properly. We prefer not to rush the initial conversation, so a brief message ahead of your visit makes things a little smoother for everyone.
Will you let me know before starting any work?
Always. After we open the case and assess the movement, we prepare a written condition note that describes what we found and what we would suggest. Nothing proceeds until you have read it and told us how you would like to move forward. You are under no obligation at the assessment stage.
Do you work on all types of mechanical watches?
We work on most manually wound and automatic mechanical movements, including older and vintage pieces. If a watch presents unusual technical challenges or requires specialist tooling we do not have, we will let you know honestly rather than proceed with uncertainty.
What happens if you find something unexpected inside?
We get in touch before doing anything further. Some movements have worn parts that are not visible until the case is open — if we find anything that changes the scope or cost of the work, we stop and call you. The decision is always yours.
How much does an assessment cost?
The initial assessment — where we open the case, examine the movement, and prepare the condition note — is included in the service price if you decide to go ahead. If you choose not to proceed after the assessment, there is a small bench fee to cover our time. We will tell you this amount upfront.
